Cylinder Block
Houses the cylinders and supports major engine parts.
Cylinder Bore
Provides the space where the piston moves up and down.
Crankshaft Assembly
Converts the piston's movement into rotating motion.
Crankshaft Bearing
Supports the crankshaft and allows it to rotate smoothly.
Crankshaft Bearing Cap
Holds the crankshaft bearing in place.
Piston Head
Receives the force from combustion inside the cylinder.
Connecting Rod
Connects the piston to the crankshaft.
Connecting Rod Bearing
Allows the connecting rod to move smoothly on the crankshaft.
Connecting Rod Bearing Cap
Holds the connecting rod bearing around the crankshaft.
Compression Rings
Seal the combustion pressure inside the cylinder.
Oil Control Ring
Controls excess oil on the cylinder wall.
Cylinder Head Assembly
Covers the cylinders and contains important valve components.
Valves
Control the flow of air, fuel, and exhaust gases.
Valve Spring & Valve Seat
Close the valve and provide a proper sealing surface.
Valve Seal & Valve Lock
Prevent oil leakage and keep the valve parts secured.
Camshaft
Opens and closes the valves at the correct time.
Rocker Arm Assembly
Transfers camshaft movement to the valves.
Crankshaft Pulley
Transfers crankshaft rotation to engine-driven components.
Camshaft Pulley
Drives the camshaft at the correct timing.
Oil Pan
Stores the engine oil.
Oil Filter
Removes dirt and contaminants from the engine oil.
Oil Pump
Circulates oil throughout the engine.
Intake Manifold
Distributes air or air-fuel mixture to the cylinders.
Exhaust Manifold
Collects exhaust gases from the cylinders.
Timing Belt
Keeps the crankshaft and camshaft synchronized.
Timing Chain
Keeps the crankshaft and camshaft synchronized.
Serpentine Belt
Drives accessories such as the alternator and compressor.
Spark Plug
Produces a spark to ignite the air-fuel mixture.
Ignition Coil
Produces the high voltage needed by the spark plug.
Distributor
Sends high voltage to the correct spark plug.
High Tension Wire
Carries high voltage from the ignition system to the spark plug.
Fuel Pump
Delivers fuel from the tank to the engine.
Radiator
Removes heat from the engine coolant.
Water Pump
Circulates coolant through the engine and radiator.
Fuel Filter
Removes dirt and impurities from the fuel.
Fuel Tank
Stores the vehicle's fuel.
Starter Motor
Turns the engine over when starting.
Compressor
Compresses refrigerant for the air-conditioning system.
Alternator
Generates electricity and charges the battery while the engine runs.
Fan
Helps cool the radiator and engine.
Thermostat
Controls the flow of coolant to maintain proper engine temperature.
Timing Chain Cover
Covers and protects the timing chain.
Cylinder Head Cover
Covers and protects the valve and rocker arm area.
Air Filter
Removes dirt from the air entering the engine.
Coolant Resevoir
Stores extra coolant for the cooling system.
Carburetor
Mixes air and fuel in the proper amount for combustion.
Oxygen sensor
Measures oxygen in the exhaust to help control the fuel mixture.
Flywheel
Stores rotational energy and helps the engine rotate smoothly.
