What parable did you group choose?
Parable of the lost (prodigal) sons
Where in the Bible is this parable located?
Luke 15:11-32, and is only found within the Gospel of Luke
What is the main point Jesus is making with this Parable?
That God’s love is unconditionally merciful and eagerly forgives anyone who repents regardless of how far away they’ve strayed, even heaven rejoices when someone who is lost repents for their sins.
What does each character represent?
1. The lost son - represents God’s grace for the lost and no sin is too great to separate someone from God’s forgiveness.
2. The older son- is a rebuke for the self-righteous Pharisees as true obedience is driven by love and relationship not transactional duty or superiority
3. The Dad - represents God, and his reaction whenever one of the lost comes back and repents to him=
