Cervical Vertebrae (C1-C7)
The uppermost section of the vertebral column comprising 7 vertebrae labeled C1 through C7.
Thoracic Vertebrae (T1-T12)
The middle section of the vertebral column comprising 12 vertebrae labeled T1 through T12.
Lumbar Vertebrae (L1-L5)
The lower section of the vertebral column comprising 5 vertebrae labeled L1 through L5.
True Ribs (R1-R7)
Rib pairs 1 through 7 that attach directly to the sternum.
False Ribs (R8-R12)
Rib pairs 8 through 12 that do not connect directly to the sternum, also written as Faloe ribs.
Floating Ribs (R11-R12)
Rib pairs 11 and 12, a subcategory of false ribs with no anterior attachment.
Sternum
The chest bone consisting of the manubrium, jugular notch, clavicular notch, body, and xiphoid process.
Ethmoid Bone
A cranial bone comprising the crista galli, cribriform plates, superior nasal concha, middle nasal concha, and inferior nasal concha.
Paranasal Sinuses
Air-filled cavities within the skull including the frontal sinus, ethmoidal sinus, sphenoidal sinus, and maxillary sinus.
Scapula
The shoulder blade bone containing the acromion, coracoid process, glenoid cavity, supraspinous fossa, and subscapular fossa.
Humerus
The upper arm bone featuring the greater tubercle, lesser tubercle, intertubercular sulcus, deltoid tuberosity, olecranon fossa, medial epicondyle, and lateral epicondyle.
Ulna
A forearm bone featuring the olecranon, trochlear notch, coronoid process, and ulnar styloid process.
Ilium
The superior region of the pelvis featuring the ASIS, PSIS, AIIS, PIIS, and greater sciatic notch.
Ischium
The lower posterior pelvic structure containing the ischial tuberosity.
Pubis
The lower anterior region of the pelvis containing the pubic crest, pubic tubercle, pubic symphysis, and obturator foramen.
Femur
The thigh bone featuring the greater trochanter, lesser trochanter, intertrochanteric line, intertrochanteric crest, linea aspera, medial epicondyle, and lateral epicondyle.
Tibia
The larger lower leg bone featuring the medial epicondyle, lateral epicondyle, tibial tuberosity, and medial malleolus.
Fibula
The slender lateral bone of the lower leg terminating at the lateral malleolus.
Tarsals
Bones of the ankle and heel consisting of the calcaneus, talus, navicular, cuboid, and cuneiform.
Phalanges
The bones of the fingers and toes, divided into proximal, middle, and distal segments.
