Skull Bones

Frontal Bone

Forms the forehead and eyebrow area; the superior region of the eye orbit.

Occipital Bone

Located at the back of the head and floor of the cranium; contains foramen magnum.

Occipital Condyle

Two rounded protrusions on the bottom of the skull where it connects with the spine.

Ethmoid Bone

Located between the eyes; forms the upper portion of the nasal cavity; the smallest cranial bone.

Sphenoid Bone

Bat-shaped bone located behind the eyes; connects cranial and facial bones; contains the sella turcica.

Parietal Bones

Two bones that form the most superior portion of the skull.

Temporal Bones

Two bones located on the sides of the skull, near the ears.

Maxillae

The upper jaw that forms the inferior section of the eye orbit.

Zygomatic Bones

Cheekbones that connect to the zygomatic process.

Palatine Bones

Two bones that form the roof of the mouth (palate).

Nasal Bones

Two bones forming the bridge of the nose, connected at the center.

Lacrimal Bones

Small bumps in the corner of the eyes, near the nose; contains lacrimal ducts for tears.

Inferior Nasal Conchae

Two bones located inside the nasal cavity.

Mandible

The lower jaw, which is the only movable bone in the skull.

Vomer

Forms part of the nasal septum, located inside the nose.

Styloid Process

Apart of temporal bones, sharp (looks like stilettos)
