Cervical vertebra
$$C1-

Thoracic vertebra
One of twelve vertebrae (T1−T12) located in the chest region, articulating with the ribs.

Lumbar vertebra
One of five large, heavy vertebrae (L1−L5) forming the lower back region.

Sacrum
Triangular bone at the base of the spine, formed by five fused sacral vertebrae.

Coccyx
Small triangular bone at the inferior tip of the spinal column, formed by fused tailbone vertebrae.

Sternum
Flat bone located in the anterior center of the chest (breastbone).

True ribs
Rib pairs 1 through 7 that attach directly to the sternum via their own costal cartilages.

False ribs
Rib pairs 8 through 12 that do not attach directly to the sternum.

Floating ribs
Rib pairs 11 and 12 (a subset of false ribs) that have no anterior attachment to the sternum or costal cartilage.

Xiphoid process
Small, inferior cartilaginous/bony tip at the inferior end of the sternum.

Clavicle
S-shaped bone at the base of the neck extending horizontally between the sternum and scapula (collarbone).

Scapula
Flat triangular bone located on the posterior upper thorax (shoulder blade).

Humerus
Long bone of the upper arm, extending from the shoulder joint to the elbow joint.

Radius
Lateral bone of the forearm (aligned with the thumb side).

Ulna
Medial bone of the forearm (aligned with the pinky side).

Scaphoid
Boat-shaped carpal bone located on the lateral (thumb) side of the proximal wrist row.

Lunate
Crescent-shaped carpal bone in the center of the proximal wrist row.

Triquetrum
Pyramidal carpal bone on the medial (pinky) side of the proximal wrist row.

Pisiform
Small, pea-shaped carpal bone resting on the palmar surface of the triquetrum.

Trapezium
Lateral carpal bone of the distal row that articulates with the thumb metacarpal.

Trapezoid
Wedge-shaped carpal bone in the distal row between the trapezium and capitate.

Capitate
Largest carpal bone, located centrally in the distal row of the wrist.

Hamate
Hook-shaped carpal bone located on the medial side of the distal wrist row.

Metacarpal
One of five miniature long bones forming the framework of the palm.

Proximal phalanx
Bone forming the base of a digit (finger or toe), closest to the palm or sole.

Middle/intermediate phalanx
Bone located between the proximal and distal phalanges in digits 2 through 5.

Distal phalanx
Bone forming the terminal tip of a finger or toe.

Os coxae (hip bone)
Large pelvic bone formed by the fusion of the ilium, ischium, and pubis.

Ilium
Superior, fan-shaped region of the hip bone forming the prominence of the hip.

Ischium
Posterior-inferior region of the hip bone that supports body weight when sitting.

Pubis
Anterior region of the hip bone that meets at the pubic symphysis.

Femur
Long bone of the thigh; the longest, heaviest, and strongest bone in the human body.

Patella
Small, triangular sesamoid bone located anterior to the knee joint (kneecap).

Tibia
Larger, weight-bearing medial bone of the lower leg (shinbone).

Fibula
Slender, non-weight-bearing lateral bone of the lower leg.

Talus
Large tarsal bone of the ankle that articulates directly with the tibia and fibula.

Calcaneus
Largest tarsal bone, forming the prominence of the heel.

Navicular
Boat-shaped tarsal bone located on the medial side of the foot between the talus and cuneiforms.

Cuboid
Cube-shaped tarsal bone located on the lateral side of the midfoot.

Medial cuneiform
Wedge-shaped tarsal bone on the inner side of the midfoot, articulating with the first metatarsal.

Intermediate cuneiform
Middle wedge-shaped tarsal bone situated between the medial and lateral cuneiforms.

Lateral cuneiform
Wedge-shaped tarsal bone located between the intermediate cuneiform and the cuboid.

Metatarsal
One of five long bones forming the midfoot and arch structure.
