Physiotherapy
Also known as rehabilitation medicine, a branch of medicine dedicated to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of all types of disabilities (Ukrainian: фізіотерапія).
Rehabilitation
The process of restoring health or normal physical function through medical care and therapy (Ukrainian: реабілітація).
Disability
A physical or mental condition that limits a person's movements, senses, or activities (Ukrainian: інвалідність).
Diagnosis
The identification of the nature of an illness or other problem by examination of the symptoms (Ukrainian: діагностика).
Treatment
Medical care given to a patient for an illness or injury (Ukrainian: лікування).
Pain
Physical suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury (Ukrainian: біль).
Surgery
The treatment of injuries or disorders of the body by incision or manipulation with instruments (Ukrainian: операція).
Function
The special, normal, or proper activity of a body part or organ (Ukrainian: функція).
Quality of life
The general well-being of individuals and societies, outlining negative and positive features of life (Ukrainian: якість життя).
Physician
A qualified medical practitioner; a doctor (Ukrainian: лікар).
Physical impairments
Disabilities affecting a person's physical body and movement abilities (Ukrainian: фізичні порушення).
Medication
A substance or drug used for medical treatment (Ukrainian: медикаменти).
Assistive devices
Tools or equipment designed to help a person with a disability perform daily tasks (Ukrainian: реабілітаційні засоби).
Chronic
Persisting for a long time or constantly recurring (Ukrainian: хронічний).
Brain
The organ of soft nervous tissue contained in the skull of vertebrates, functioning as the coordinating center of sensation and nervous activity (Ukrainian: мозок).
Nerves
Fibers that transmit impulses of sensation to the brain or spinal cord, and impulses from these to the muscles and organs (Ukrainian: нерви).
Bones
Rigid organs that constitute part of the skeleton in most vertebrate animals (Ukrainian: кістки).
Muscles
Soft tissues found in most animals that contain protein filaments of actin and myosin that slide past one another, producing contraction (Ukrainian: м'язи).
Independence
The ability to live one's life without relying on others for daily assistance (Ukrainian: незалежність).
Chronic pain
Pain that carries on for longer than expected timeframes or recurs over a extended period (Ukrainian: хронічний біль).
Interdisciplinary
Relating to more than one branch of knowledge or medical field (Ukrainian: міждисциплінарний).
Psychosocial
Relating to the combination of psychological and social factors in healthcare (Ukrainian: психосоціальний).
Complementary therapies
Treatments used alongside standard medical practices to help manage health conditions (Ukrainian: допоміжні терапії).
Essential
Absolutely necessary or extremely important (Ukrainian: суттєвий, неодмінний).
Skill
The ability to do something well; expertise or practice (Ukrainian: вміння, навик).
Prevention
The action of stopping something bad or unwanted from happening (Ukrainian: профілактика, запобігання).
Life-saving
Preventing someone from dying in a medical emergency (Ukrainian: рятівний).
Accurate
Correct, precise, and exact in detail (Ukrainian: точний, достовірний).
Health record
A document containing confidential patient health information and clinical history (Ukrainian: медична картка).
Condition
The state of a person's physical or mental health (Ukrainian: стан).
Confident
Feeling or showing certainty and self-assurance (Ukrainian: впевнений).
Body language
Nonverbal communication through conscious or unconscious gestures and posture (Ukrainian: мова тіла).
Facial expression
The look on someone's face that conveys their thoughts or emotions (Ukrainian: вираз обличчя).
To nod
To lower and raise one's head quickly, usually in agreement or acknowledgment (Ukrainian: кивати (головою)).
Compassion
Sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others (Ukrainian: співчуття).
Kindness
The quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate (Ukrainian: доброта).
Frightening
Making someone afraid or anxious; scary (Ukrainian: жахливий, моторошний).
Procedure
An established or official medical course of action (Ukrainian: процедура).
Rapport
A harmonious relationship based on mutual understanding and communication (Ukrainian: взаєморозуміння).
Honest
Free of deceit and untruthfulness; sincere and truthful (Ukrainian: чесний).
Test results
The outcome or conclusions reached following medical examinations or clinical tests (Ukrainian: результати аналізів).
To complete
To finish or bring a task to completion (Ukrainian: завершувати, закінчувати).
Efficient
Achieving maximum productivity with minimum wasted effort or resource (Ukrainian: доцільний, дієвий).
Educator
A person who provides instruction, training, or education (Ukrainian: інструктор, педагог).
Therapy
Treatment intended to relieve or heal a disorder or medical condition (Ukrainian: терапія).
