pledge book paragraphs

The pledge book

The chapter pledge book is a bound volume that is to be kept by each undergraduate chapter as a permanent record of every alpha phi delta pledge and pledge class coming through that chapter. The chapter pledge book is to be considered an official document and the property of the chapter. It is signed by each pledge class member only after the pledge oath is taken.

A pledge book

Each member of a pledge class keeps a pledge book. This book is the chapters property until a prospective members initiation. It is to serve as a record of the pledge period and as a directory of the chapters brothers.

The pledge pin

The pledge pin is worn until the right to wear the Fraternity Pin is earned. The pin symbolizes the pledges friendship with alpha phi delta and his desire to join. The pledge pin, which is received at the baptism ceremony, is to be worn on the left lapel of a jacket or the left collar of a shirt at all times. The pledge pin belongs to the chapter and should be returned after the pledge period.
