Vocabulary flashcards covering key concepts, equations, and features of proportional graphs from the guided notes.
Proportional Graph
A linear graph representing a proportional relationship that must pass through the origin, or (0,0).
Origin
The point (0,0) on a coordinate plane through which any graph representing a proportional relationship must pass.
Constant of Proportionality
The constant ratio found on a graph by choosing a point and calculating the ratio of xy.
y=kx
The standard equation used to represent a proportional relationship, where k is the constant of proportionality or rate of change.
Rate of Change
The ratio of the change in y to the change in x (xy) found from a graph or table.
