Organelle
a structure within a cell that performs specific functions necessary for cell survival and operation.

Nucleas
the control centre of a cell; contains DNA
DNA
the genetic information inside

Mitachondria
a complex, oval-shaped organelle that produces ATP energy through the process of respiration.
Vacuoles
an organelle used for the storage of waste (animals) and water (plants)
Cell membrane
a thin layer around a cell that controls which substances leave the cell
Cyptoplasm
a jelly-like fluid inside a cell
Ribosomes
a small, simple organelle that produces proteins
Endoplasmic reticulum
a continuous network of membrane-enclosed sacs and tubules found in the cyptoplasm of eukaryotic cells
Golgi apparatus
a membrane-bound organelle in eukaryotic cells that modifies, sorts, and packages proteins and lipids for transport
Lysosomes
are membrane-bound cell organelles that act as the cell’s recycling and waste disposal center
Prokaryotic
Simple cells that do not have a nucleas and the DNA moves freely
Eukaryotic
Complex cells that have a nucleas and the DNA is stored there
