Good morning, could you please state your name for the court?
My name is Parker Rose
Could you tell us a little about yourself?
I’d love to, if my life has been anything it’s been interesting. I sued to attend BU on a full scholarship, but as every guy in tech wishes, the chance came around to cofound a startup. Mine was beta, and she was great… Until she did and all I ended up with was an RV. Now me and theta, my RV, travel around, and we’re currently in midlands searching for my next venture.
Im sorry to hear that Mr. Rose, so where in Midlands are you staying now?
I love on dip road, right next to this huuuuge downhill curve. my friend, Emberlynn, had let me park in her driveway, i really do miss her. But now i’m usually around the campground, some nice spots to park Theta.
Were you able to clearly see the curve on Dip Rd from where your RV was parked?
Yea, it was a great view. Now, i’ve been in the tech world, and I know Zuckerberg is always watching, so I don’t have a phone, but if I did my camera roll would be full of pictures from those sunsets.
Would you recognize a photo of this road if I showed it to you today in court?
Yes I would
Can you show us where you lived in relation to the pole?
Sure, I was right about here, and this is where the pole was.
Did you take note of the pole
You couldn’t miss that pole, it totally ruined all the natural vibes of the area with all its rust y’know, I never liked it.
Did you ever seen anyone inspecting it?
Yup, the way the road is curved there’s no way to park by the pole, so whenever workers came they parked right behind Theta. I moved to the area in about may 2023, I would notice them coming to inspect every 2 weeks or so.
What would you see them do during the inspections?
They’d pull up in their MG&E trucks, all uniformed out, pretty fresh, and stop for several minutes at each pole along the road checking them up and down, they really got in there. I mean I saw them getting lifted up, writing things down, the whole shabang.
Did this stay consistent up until the Dip Rd fire?
Nah, by early 2025 ish I noticed the visits happening way less, maybe once every 2 months, I never saw the MG&E trucks or their MG&E uniforms. They also would be checking the poles wayyy faster, like barely even a min. Also, I noticed they began to take notes a bit… differently.. heh.
What did you notice that was different.
After that I only ever saw them writing things down on tiny scraps of paper, once I even saw them writing with what looked like napkins.
Did you ever speak to anyone during these inspections?
Yeah, actually one time I bumped into one of their inspectors in August of 2025. My curiosity got the best of me and I asked them why I hadn’t seen them inspecting the pole as much as I did the year before.
Did he answer your question?
Well, he told me that MG&E regular employers had been replaced with temporary “paid by the pole” contractors.
Were you aware of the incidents that occurred at the curve prior to the crash on New Years Day?
I’m aware there were two others crashes that occurred on this curve, and I remember that after each crash, MG&E would come inspect.
Now I want to talk about the night of the fire, what were you doing that night?
I was cooped up celebrating the new year, Emily Dickinson in one hand matcha in the other. Until my vibe was totally interrupted by what sounded like a crazy car crash.
Did you go to the scene of the crash?
Yes I did
What did yous see?
Once I got there, I saw the big utility pole was leaning like nothing I had ever seen before, the car crash looked like it was in bad shape, and emergency responders had already arrived.
Did you talk to anyone at the crash?
I saw a police officer talking to the crash victims and inspecting the pole, then I saw him on the phone.
Did you know who he was talking to?
Not at first, but I heard another responder ask “what MG&E said” but the officer just said he told them the pole “looked fine, but they should probably double-check”
Did you see anyone come to the pole later in the night?
No, but I left around an hour later.
Did you notice anything else about the pole as you were leaving
I was driving up the hill, so in the opposite direction of the pole. But I swear I saw these sparks in my rear view mirror coming from where the top of the pole was.
So, were you present when the fire started?
Thank god, no, I was able to get out of the area before it started, but my friend who I was staying with, Emberlynn. She wasn’t as lucky, and she’s no longer here with us.
