What to include in the ‘What-How-Why’ structure?

  • What = Metalang + quote + line n.o

  • How = How the language feature works/what effect does it have related to purupose / topic management initiation, change, shift - be specific/ turn-taking, how that feature supports what you’re analysing (in this case authorial intent)

  • Why = Why does the speaker use it? Implications for the audience?, Function/purpose
