Series Circuit
Components are connected in a single loop; one path for electron flow (It = I1 = I2)
Series Current
The current is the same everywhere in the circuit
Series Voltage
Voltage is divided amongst the components (Vt = V1 + V2 + V3)
Parallel Circuit
There are multiple branches/pathways; separate pathways for electrical current flow
Parallel Current
Total current is split up among parallel branches (It = I1 + I2)
Parallel Voltage
Voltage remains the same across branches; each component receives full voltage (Vt = V1 = V2)
Brightness: Series
As more bulbs are added, they get dimmer because voltage is shared; if one bulb goes out, the rest go out
Brightness: Parallel
Bulbs will remain the same brightness no matter the amount of bulbs; if one fails, others remain unaffected
