Ribosomes
Cellular instructions made of protein and rRNA that build proteins (nonmembranous).

Mitochondria
Convert the stored chemical energy in food molecules to stored chemical energy in molecules of adenosine triphosphate (ATP).

Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum
Has ribosomes attached to its surface and is associated with the nucleus and produces proteins for transport and use out of the cell.

Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
Provides lipid compounds and detoxifies material.

Golgi Complex
Recieves material from the ER and assembles/packages proteins and lipids for transport to different parts of the cell or for export outside of it.

Nucleus
Houses genetic information of the cell, directs cellular functions, makes rRNA.

Vesicles
Digest subcellular material, transport material out of the cell, enzymatic activities.

Lysosomes
Vesicles filled with digestive enzymes that engulf foreign particles and release digestive enzymes that hydrolyze the foreign particles.

Peroxisomes
Coverts hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen.

Microvilli
Small extensions of the plasma membrane of some cells that increase the surface area of the cell.

Cillia
Sweeps materials across the surface area of the cell in one direction. Found in respiratory track, uterine tubes, ventricles of the brain, and ducts of the testes.

Flagella
A long, whip-like appendage that protrudes from a cell and acts primarily as an organelle of locomotion.

Pseudopods
Locomotion, capturing foreign particles.
