Program Evaluation
Research that evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of programs aimed at achieving positive effects on groups of people.
Quasi-experimental Design
Research designs that lack key features of true experiments, such as control groups or random assignment.
Internal Validity
The extent to which an independent variable causes changes to the dependent variable, free from alternative explanations.
Single Case Experimental Designs
Research designs that assess the effect of an independent variable using data from only one subject.
Longitudinal Study
A study where the same group of people is observed at different points in time as they age.
Cross-sectional Study
A research design that examines people of different ages at one point in time.
Sequential Method
A research design that combines longitudinal and cross-sectional approaches.
Outcome Evaluation
Assessment to determine whether the intended outcomes of a program are being achieved.
Needs Assessment
Involves identifying problems that need to be addressed within a target population.
Experimental Design
A systematic method to investigate the relationship between independent and dependent variables through controlled settings.
