Solid Red Light

A traffic signal meaning STOP. You may turn right if there is no NO TURN ON RED sign, you stop at the limit line, and yield for pedestrians.

Red Arrow

A signal meaning STOP. Do not turn at this signal; remain stopped until a green light or green arrow appears.

Flashing Red Light

A signal meaning STOP. After stopping, you may proceed when it is safe to do so.

Solid Yellow Light

A signal meaning CAUTION. The light is about to turn red; stop if you can do so safely, otherwise cautiously cross the intersection.

Yellow Arrow

This signal indicates the protected turning time is ending. Cautiously complete your turn if you are already in the intersection or cannot stop safely.

Flashing Yellow Light

A warning to PROCEED WITH CAUTION. It indicates you should slow down and be alert, but you do not need to stop.

Flashing Yellow Arrow

Indicates you can turn left, but your turn is not protected from other traffic. Yield to oncoming traffic and proceed with caution.

Solid Green Light

A signal meaning GO. You must still stop for existing traffic or pedestrians in the intersection and only enter if you can cross completely before the light turns red.

Green Arrow

A signal meaning GO in the direction pointing. It allows you to make a protected turn while oncoming vehicles are stopped by a red light.

Traffic Light Not Working

An intersection where you must stop as if it is controlled by STOP signs in all directions before proceeding cautiously.

Flashing DON’T WALK or Flashing Raised Hand

A pedestrian signal meaning do not start crossing the street. Drivers must still yield to pedestrians already in the crossing.

Diagonal Crossing

Crisscross crosswalks that allow pedestrians to cross the intersection in any direction at the same time.

STOP Sign

Requires a full stop before entering the crosswalk or at the limit line. If neither exists, stop before entering the intersection.

Red YIELD Sign

Requires you to slow down and be ready to stop to let any vehicle, bicyclist, or pedestrian pass before you proceed.

DO NOT ENTER Sign

A red and white regulatory sign meaning do not enter the road or ramp where the sign is posted.

WRONG WAY Sign

Posted when you enter a roadway against traffic. At night, road reflectors will shine red in your headlights as a warning.

A symbol showing what you cannot do, often accompanied by words.

Indicates you are approaching a railroad crossing; you should look, listen, slow down, and prepare to stop for trains.
