Domain
The set of all possible input values (x-values) for a given function, where each input corresponds to one or more outputs.
Range
The set of all possible output values (y-values) for a given function, determined by the corresponding inputs in the domain.
Slope-intercept form
A way to express a linear equation in the form y=mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
Point-slope form
A way to express a linear equation in the form of y-y1=m(x-x1). Where m is the slope and x1 and y1 are points on the line. x,y are any variables representing a point on the line. *Use when you know the slope, and one point on the line.
Standard form
Ax+By=C
interval notation
() parentheses not included, {} brackets included
inequality notation
Uses algebraic symbols (<, >, ≤, ≥) with a variable (like x) to show the conditions of a number set. Example: x > 2.
Infinity
An unbounded, limitless quantity that goes on forever without end and is not a specific number.
Zero product Property
if any number in an expression is multiplied by zero, the product immediatly becomes zero.
