An artistic movement characterized by a love of the vernacular, nostalgia for pre-Industrial Revolution times, and an interest in Gothic/mediaeval art, architecture, other cultures, and Arthurian legends.

An ethereal modular structure over 550 metres long covering 19 acres, designed by Joseph Paxton to house the Great Exhibition of 1851.

The author and designer of the Crystal Palace who contemporary critics referred to as an 'engineer' rather than an architect due to his innovative modular design.
1889 Paris World’s Fair
An international exhibition in Paris (L’Exposition Universelle) featuring Volpini's show of Gauguin's work in a café on the fairgrounds.

An international exhibition that featured Corbusier's L'Esprit Nouvelle pavilion.
