Metaphor

Simile
A figure of speech comparing two distinct things using the words 'like' or 'as'.
Personification
A language feature where non-human objects, animals, or ideas are attributed human traits or emotions.
Hyperbole
An intentional and extreme exaggeration used for emphasis or dramatic effect.
Juxtaposition
The placement of two contrasting ideas, images, or concepts side-by-side to highlight their differences.
Oxymoron
A phrase combining two contradictory or opposing words directly next to each other.
Imperative
A verb form or statement used to give a direct order, command, or request to the audience.
Jargon
Specialized vocabulary used by a specific group, profession, or trade that may be obscure to outsiders.
Alliteration
The repetition of matching consonant sounds at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words.
Assonance
The repetition of similar vowel sounds within neighboring words to create internal rhyming.
