Define hormones.

They are "chemical substances" "produced in endocrine glands", transported by blood and they "alter the activity of one or more target organ".

What does insulin do to your body?

It increases "blood glucose concentration", by causing conversion of glucose to glycogen.

When is adrenaline produced?

It is produced in "conditions of fear, anger, anxiety and stress".

What is the role of testosterone?

Its role is to "control development of sexual characteristics" in men and for "sperm production".

What is the role of oestrogen?

Its role is to "control development of female sex organs" and "development of sexual characteristics".

What is the role of progesterone?

Its role is to "prepare uterus for implantation of embryo".
