-Their job is to save lives, minimize damage, and reduce injuries

NHC (National Hurricane Center)

-Formally known as the TPC-tropical prediction center (miami, FL)

-They monitor tropics, issue all watches, warnings and advisories, and during time off they focus on past analysis

SPC (Storm Prediction Center)

-They monitor current weather, issue severe thunderstorm and tornado watches

-Formerly known as the national severe storms forecast center (NSSFC)

WSO/WFO (Weather service office or Weather forecast Office)

-Hourly observations

-Issue zone forecasts (4 times)

-Climate reports

-If necessary, they issue severe thunderstorms, tornado warnings , as well as all other advisories

-Perform storm surveys

-Monitor Doppler Radar
