What is the fist stage (what gos into the photo system)
The lysis of water occurs
The oxygen is released into the air
The electron foes int othe photo system 2
The hydrogen remans in the IMS
What happens to the electron as it goes into the photo system
What does the electron go through
How dos the electron release energy
What does the energy do
It absorbs wavelengths of light
It then pass through electron transport chain and through redox reactions energy is released that brings H+ into the iMS
What happens after the electron goes through the ETC after p.s 2
It follows again into ps1 with being excited
What happens to the H+ that get moved to IMS
Through proton gradient
H+ moves down electrochemical gradient and through chemiosmosis goes through ATP synthase (enzyme) and causes ADP to bind with Phoshpae group and make ATP
What happens to the H+ after being passed through ATP synthase
It joins with the electron from PS1 with NADP
To becomes reduced NADPH and takes onto next stage
What is the cyclic phosphorylation
Where the electron doesn’t go through PSII but only goes to PSI and only gets excited there and it still causes H+ to move into IMS through redox reactions - still makes ATP and NADPH
When is the cyclic phosphorylation used
When there is a lack of water as it recycles the same electrons
