Affirmative Tú Commands (Regular Formation)

Use the third-person singular (él/ella/usted) present tense form: add -a for -ar verbs, and add -e for -er and -ir verbs.

Negative Tú Commands (Regular Formation)

Drop the -o from the present tense yo form and add opposite endings: add -es for -ar verbs, and add -as for -er and -ir verbs.

Affirmative Tú Command Overlap: 've'

've' serves as the affirmative tú command for both ir (to go) and ver (to watch/see), with meaning determined by context.

Negative Tú Commands: Irregular Yo-Form Stems

Verbs retain their irregular present yo stem before attaching opposite endings (e.g., pongo -> no pongas, hago -> no hagas, salgo -> no salgas, tengo -> no tengas, conduzco -> no conduzcas).

Negative Tú Commands: -car, -gar, -zar Spelling Changes

Verbs change spelling to preserve sound: -car becomes -ques (sacar -> no saques), -gar becomes -gues (regar -> no riegues), and -zar becomes -ces (almorzar -> no almuerces).

Negative Tú Commands: Stem-Changing Verbs

Verbs maintain their present tense vowel stem changes (e.g., e -> ie in no pierdas, o -> ue in no vuelvas / no duermas, e -> i in no repitas).
