What is a frequency table?
A table that shows the number of pieces of data that fall within specific intervals.
What is a histogram?
A diagram consisting of rectangles whose area is proportional to the frequency of a variable and whose width is equal to the class interval.
How do you complete the frequency table for annual ticket sales event?
Complete tallies for each ticket sales range to calculate frequency
How do you find the total number of students in the PE class from the frequency table?
Add up all the frequencies in the table.
How do you determine how many students ran 1 mile in under 9 minutes using the frequency table?
Add the frequencies for the 8:00-8:59 and 9:00-9:59 time intervals.
Can you tell from the frequency table how many students ran a mile in exactly 12 minutes? Explain.
No, the frequency table only shows the number of students within an interval, not the exact times.
How to update existing histogram with new ages that need to be included?
Update the frequencies in the existing age ranges and add a new range (46-55 with a frequency of 1) to include the new ages.
How might the age data of miniature golf players change if recorded at 7:00 p.m. instead of 3:00 p.m.?
The ages would likely be younger during the day and older in the evening.
How can Lilah adjust the intervals to include the 65-year-old and two 5-year-old granddaughters?
Adjust the intervals to include ages 0-15 and create an interval for those ages.
