.Jesus keeps his identity as Messiah a secret, He warns those he heals no to tell anyone (no one listens), Favorite title is Son of Man, Goes to village of Philippi and asks who people thought ht was, they reply with ‘messiah’ but Jesus wants them to focus on divine things not trivial names.

5. Curious ending?: Jesus isn't in the tomb they meet an angel “dressed in white” it left us with two final endings, women witness the resurrection first, when they are commanded not to tell the secret they do but when they are to tell they don't.

The Gospel of Matthew

-Tells the exact same story as mark but from a different angle

-Matthew portrays Jesus as the supreme teacher, rabbi and interpreter of the law

Sermon on the Mount

-Jesus gave a sermon on the mount to bless others “blessed are…”

-The sermon begins with a list of “blessed are…” called the Beatitudes (Latin) for “blessing”

The Beatitudes

Our bible translates the Greek word here as blessed but the word basically means happy. This is a list of happiness.

• Gospels spends a great deal of time describing the arrest, trial and execution so it is important we understand the orders of gospels

Thursday

-Passover Meal (aka last supper): Originally it celebrated the liberation of mankind from sin and death. Liberation for slaves in Egypt

Garden of Gethsemane: Jesus goes here with his disciples after the meal to pray. Then there was a mob with Judas led by it and to of Jesus’s own disciples

Pilate hears he's from Galilee and sends Jesus to the Jewish puppet king,

Pilate has him flogged but crowd isnt satisfied

But Herod does not have the authority to condemn Jesus to death.

(basically whipped until he's bloody)  but the crowd is not satisfied

by Joseph of Arimathea, important to note because Joseph was a member of the Sanhedrin. It shows that not everyone was in favor of putting Jesus to death
