What were the causes of the Great Depression?

The causes of the Great Depression was mainly started by the stock market crash of 1929. Another cause of the depression was bank failures and reduced consumer spending. Drought conditions affected agriculture which made it so many couldn't pay debts or keep their land, forcing them to move and worsening unemployment and poverty during the Great Depression.
