What is cellular respiration?
The process by which energy is released from glucose (containing chemi pot E) in a series of chemical reactions that’s used for bodily processes.
What are the two requirements for respiration?
Glucose and oxygen.
What are the products of respiration?
Carbon dioxide, water, and energy.
What is the main product of photosynthesis?
Glucose.
How can we detect the presence of carbon dioxide?
By bubbling the gas through clear limewater; if it turns milky, carbon dioxide is present.
What do we call the substances produced during respiration that are not the main products?
By-products (or waste products).
What is breathing?
the act of inhaling and exhaling air into and out lungs
What is respiration?
metabolic process that uses oxygen to release energy and produces carbon dioxide.
In what organisms does cellular respiration occur?
In all organisms, including plants.
What is the equation representing respiration?
Glucose + oxygen → carbon dioxide + water + energy.
