Nasal mucosa

The clinical term for nosebleeds, which are common under low humidity conditions.
Tonsilitis
Inflammation of the tonsils, which can cause airway obstruction and discomfort.
Eustachian tubes
Tubes that connect the middle ear to the nasopharynx, helping to equalize pressure.
Pharyngeal reflex
A protective reflex that causes gagging or coughing in response to stimuli in the pharynx.
Vellecula
The space between the base of the tongue and the epiglottis, important during intubation.
Papillae
Taste buds on the tongue that detect different flavors such as sweet and sour.
