Measurement
Is the process of comparing something with a standard. To carry out measurements, a system of standards and a system of units should be defined.
Metric system & Imperial System
There are 2 types of measurement system.
MKS & CGS System
Two variations of the metric system.
English system
Is otherwise known as the fps system (Foot, Pound, & second)
MKS system
Meters, Kilogram, & Second
CGS system
Centimeters, Grams, Second
International System of Units
Abbreviated SI from the French Le systeme International d’Unités is the modern form of the metric system. It is the system of units that the General conference on Weights & Measures has agreed upon & is legally enforced in almost parts of the world.
Physical Quantities
may be either fundemental or derived.
Fundemetal quantities
Are basic quantities that are independent of one another, foundation of measurements in Physics. There are 7 SI fundamental units: Length, Mass, Time, Temperature, Electric Current, Luminous intensity, and Amount of substance
Derived quantities
Are combinations of fundamental quantities using mathematical equations.
Base / Fundemental units
Units corresponding to the fundemental quantities are called as…
