Mineral resources
comprise all usable rocks and materials. It is classified into two types: nonmetallic resources and metals.
Nonmetallic Resources
any useful rock or mineral that does not contain metallic qualities.
i.e salt, sand, gravel
Metallic Resources
any chemical element that has a metallic sheen, It is ductile and can conduct electricity and heat.
i.e iron, lead, copper, aluminium, silver, gold
Energy Resources
are used for heating, lighting, and data transmission.
Nonrenewable
These are all mineral resources, Energy from fossil fuels and nuclear fuels.
Renewable
Energy sources include solar, wind, geothermal energy
Fossil Fuels
Petroleum, coal, and natural gas from the remains of plants and animals.
Nuclear Fuels
are radioactive isotopes that are used to create power in nuclear reactors.
i.e Uranium
Minerals
the most fundamental and necessary raw elements in our daily life, they are critical for economic and social technological growth.
Mineralization
the deposition of precious minerals in huge quantities, that occur in rocks.
Ore
mineralization that can be mined with profit.
