The New Way of the Spirit
The manner of living followed by believers who are no longer bound by the Ten Commandments.
Galatians 5:4
Passage declaring that attempting to be made right with God by keeping the law results in being cut off from Christ and falling away from God's grace.
Opposition of Law and Faith
The theological contrast stating that faith leads to life, whereas the law leads to the curse of approval addiction.
John 1:16–17
Scripture noting that fullness and grace in place of grace have been received, as the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
3,000 Died vs. 3,000 Saved
The historical and spiritual contrast where 3,000 died on the day the law was given, while 3,000 were saved on the day grace was given.
Miracles of Moses vs. Jesus
A contrast in divine demonstrations: Moses' first miracle was rivers of blood and his last in Egypt was death, whereas Jesus' first miracle was water to wine and His last was resurrection.
Experience under the Law vs. Grace
The law produces bondage, condemnation, and frustration from never achieving, while grace produces freedom, removal of guilt, and joy from not having to achieve.
Hebrews 10:12 (Rest in Christ)
The truth that unlike the Temple with no chair where priests were always working and never at rest, Jesus offered one sacrifice for sins forever and sat down at the right hand of God so believers could rest.
Lenses of Grace
The perspective through which believers must view the Bible, avoiding a mixture of grace and law.
Blessing of the Law
The inheritance that falls on believers who are in Christ because Jesus fulfilled the law on their behalf.
Favor of God
A divine standing that believers do not achieve by works, but receive freely because Jesus did what is right.
Growth in Grace
The spiritual principle that a believer must be thrilled with the grace of God before being moved toward life with God.
