ECC RAM

Error Correction Code RAM - Detects and corrects single bit memory errors; can detect but not correct multi-bit errors, generating an error message and stopping system entirely when it happens.

RDIMM

Registered DIMMs - what most ECC Ram is supplied as. Has register to reduce electrical load on the memory controller

UDIMM

Unbuffered DIMMS - common in consumer grade systems, does not support ECC.

DIMM

Dual Inline Memory module - desktop memory

Multithreading

CPU architecture that uses two or more logical processors. Delivers performance benefits imilarto multicorand multisocket to threaded applications.

multisocket

Motherboard configuration with multiple CPU sockets (that are identical)

multicore

CPU design that puts two chips onto the same package.

SoC

System-on-chip - intergrates multiple components like video, sound, networking and storage controllers into the CPU. Is used for ARM and makes it ideal for mobile an fanless devices.
