Must be noteworthy & an embodiment of excellence, further enriching their chosen field
Must be critically acclaimed and recognized by legitimate institutions and peers
What are the qualifications to be a National Artist?
The nominees will be studied and reviewed by the NCCA and CCP
They will submit their recommendations to the President of the Philippines
The president releases a proclamation bestowing the respective title and rank on the nominees
Then they will be conferred by a ceremony arranged by the NCCA & CCP secretariat
What is the qualification process to be recognized as a national Artist?
Title & rank of “National Artist“
Medal bearing the insignia of a National Artist and citation
They will receive a 100,000 peso cash gift for those living, but 75,000 to those recognized after death, given to their heir
Monthly pension & hospitalization benefits

State funeral and interment at the Libingan ng mga Bayani
Reserved place at awarding ceremonies, state functions & cultural events
