Flashcards covering the key vocabulary and concepts related to one-dimensional arrays as introduced in the programming for engineers lecture.
Array
A data structure for storing a contiguous block of data, where all elements must be of the same type.
Offset
The index used to specify individual elements in an array, starting from 0.
Initialization List
A list used to initialize the elements of an array at the time of definition.
Statistical Measurements
Techniques used to analyze and interpret data sets effectively.
Function
A reusable block of code that performs a specific task.
Syntax of Array Declaration
datatype identifier[arraysize] = initializationlist; where arraysize must be an integer constant.
Contiguous Memory
Memory allocation where elements are stored one after the other in a continuous block.
Index
The numerical position of an element within an array, also known as a subscript.
C-style String
A sequence of characters terminated by a null character ('\0').
Vector
A dynamic data structure that can grow and shrink in size, unlike static arrays.
