Permanent Plot

A fixed, marked sampling plot that is more advantageous statistically and practically for monitoring long-term carbon stock changes over time.

Single Plot of Fixed Size

A uniform sample plot preferred for stands with low variability, particularly single-species, even-aged plantations. 

Nested Plot Method

A sampling design using smaller sub-units of various shapes and sizes nested within a larger plot, representing a practical design for recording discrete size classes of stems across stands with wide or changing tree diameters and stem densities.

Random Plot Distribution

Plot location strategy determined using random number tables or random distribution functions in GIS.

Systematic Plot Distribution

Plot location strategy established by overlaying a regular geometric grid on the project map to place plots in a uniform pattern across strata.
