What is a point
A location with no size or shape
What is a line
Made up of points with no thickness or width
What is a line segment
A measurable part of a line consisting of two endpoints
What is a ray
A line that extends indefinitely in one direction
What is a plane
A flat surface made up of points and extends indefinitely in all directions
What is a postulate
A statement assumed to be true
What is the addition postulate
If points A, B, and C are on the same line with B between A and C, then a AB + BC = AC
What is the angle addition postulate
If point D is in the interior of ABC then ABD + DBC = ABC
What is the first step to copy a line segment
Use a straight edge to draw a new line. Mark a new point on this line
What is the second step to copy a line segment
keep the compass on point A and keep the compass setting to reach AB
What is the third step to create a line segment
Use the same setting, place compass on the new line and draw an arc to create a line segment
What is the first step to copy an angle bisector
Mark a new point and use the straight edge to draw a ray without an end point
What is the second step to copy an angle bisector
Place the compass on point A and draw an arc that intersects both rays
What is the third step to copy an angle bisector
Without changing the setting, place the compass on the new point and draw an intersecting arc, mark a new point on the intersection
What is the fourth step to copy a line segment
Place the compass on point c. Open the compass between B and C
What is the fifth step to copy a line segment
Without changing the setting place compass on the second point and draw an arc, label as a new point

What is the corresponding angle theorem
If the transversal intersects 2 parallel lines angles 5 and 1 are congruent

What is the alternate interior angles theorem
If the transversal intersects 2 parallel lines angles 3 and 6 are congruent.

What is the same-side interior angles theorem
If a transversal intersects 2 parallel lines angles 3 and 5 are supplementary
What is the transitive property
If a = b and b = c then a=c
What is a straight angle
A angle(s) that add up to 180 degrees
What are parallel lines
Lines which have the same slope, never cross, and stay the same distance apart
Whate are perpendicular lines
Lines which have opposite slopes, form a 90 degree angle, and always equal -1
