Vocabulary flashcards covering the standards, rubric levels, key mathematical concepts, and graphical analysis from the CPM Algebra 2 Chapter 1 Test Retake.
Standard AG4A
A curriculum standard titled "Reasoning with Equations & Inequalities" that assesses solving linear, rational, and factored polynomial equations, as well as factoring quadratic and multivariable expressions.
Standard FN1B
A curriculum standard titled "Interpreting functions" that evaluates finding function values (such as f(9)), solving for x given a function value, and identifying the domain and range of graphed functions.
Standard AG1
A curriculum standard titled "Seeing structure in expressions" that focuses on isolating and solving for an indicated variable within literal equations.
Standard AG4B
A curriculum standard titled "Reasoning with Equations & Inequalities" focused on solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula and rounding answers to the nearest hundredth (2 decimal places) when necessary.
Standard FN1A
A curriculum standard titled "Interpreting functions" requiring students to use a calculator to generate a table with at least 5 integer values for both x and y and sketch a complete graph of given functions.
Standard FS1
A foundational curriculum standard titled "Algebra Foundations" covering core skills including formula rearrangement, radical simplification, evaluating expressions of the form f(x)−c, and factoring trinomials.
Rubric Score 0
The lowest performance level on the standard assessment rubric, defined as "Unable to assess."
Rubric Score 1
A performance level on the standard assessment rubric defined as "Limited understanding."
Rubric Score 2
A performance level on the standard assessment rubric defined as "Inconsistent."
Rubric Score 3
A performance level on the standard assessment rubric defined as "Consistent."
Rubric Score 4
The highest performance level on the standard assessment rubric, defined as "Detailed & High Level."

Graph 2a (Parabola Domain and Range)
An upward-opening parabola with a vertex at (−2,−6) and x-intercepts at (−6,0) and (2,0), having a domain of all real numbers ((−∞,∞)) and a range of [−6,∞).

Graph 2b (Function f Domain and Range)
A continuous curve beginning at an open endpoint at (−3,0), reaching a relative minimum at (−2,−4), a relative maximum at (0,0), and terminating at a closed endpoint at (1,−4), with a domain of (−3,1] and a range of [−4,0].
Quadratic Formula
The algebraic method used to solve equations of the form ax2+bx+c=0, given by x=2a−b±b2−4ac.
Difference of Two Squares
A factoring pattern of the form a2−b2=(a−b)(a+b), demonstrated on the test by factoring the expression 25x2−1 into (5x−1)(5x+1).
Literal Equation
An equation containing two or more variables (such as C=72(F−20) or j=tmkrp) where the objective is to rearrange and isolate a specified target variable.
