What is nominal data?

non-numerical data without order

ex: presence of allergen— y/n

ex: red, shiny

What is ordinal data?

non-numerical data with an implied order

ex: range from 1-10

ex: quality grade

What is continuous data?

have an infinite # of values between any 2 values (can have decimals)

ex: volume

ex: pH

What is discrete data?

have a finite, countable # of values between any 2 values

ex: number of bruises on an apple

ex: customer complaints

What is simple random sampling?

Assign a number to each unit, randomly pick a number
