Three-core cable
An electrical cable composed of three insulated wires: the live wire, neutral wire, and earth wire.
Live wire
The brown wire that carries the potential difference of 230V and connects to the fuse, which melts to break the circuit if the current and temperature become too high.
Neutral wire
The blue wire that completes the electrical circuit and operates at a potential difference of 0V.
Earth wire
The green and yellow safety wire at 0V that directs current safely into the ground in the event of an electrical fault.
