Parallel Lines
Coplanar lines that do not intersect.
Parallel Planes
Planes that do not intersect.
Skew Lines
Lines that do not intersect and are not coplanar.
Transversal
A line that intersects two or more coplanar lines at distinct points.
Corresponding Angles
Angles in matching positions relative to two lines and a transversal.
Alternate Interior Angles
Nonadjacent angles inside two lines that lie on opposite sides of a transversal.
Alternate Exterior Angles
Nonadjacent angles outside two lines that lie on opposite sides of a transversal.
Consecutive Interior Angles
Angles inside two lines that lie on the same side of a transversal.
Paragraph Proof
A format of proof written as narrative sentences explaining the logic step-by-step.
Distance from a Point to a Line
The length of the perpendicular segment from the point to the line.
Slope
The steepness of a line represented as the ratio of vertical change (rise) to horizontal change (run).
Parallel Slopes
Equal slopes possessed by non-vertical parallel lines in coordinate geometry.
Perpendicular Slopes
Slopes of non-vertical perpendicular lines that are negative reciprocals of each other, having a product of −1.
