LCD: Least Common Denominator
Find what multiples the denominators have in common
what do you do in an algebraic equation that includes fractions?
Find the LCD, and multiply both sides using the LCD
Commutative Property Ex:
5+3=8 | 3+5=8 / 5×3=15 | 3×5=15
Associative Property Ex:
(3+2)+1 = 3(2+1) | (3×2)x1= 3(2×1)

2( 4 + z) = 8+2z
Identity Property Ex:
7+0=7 | 9×1=9
Inverse Property Ex:
4+(-4)=0 | 5×1/5 =1
What operation does Commutative and Associative property apply to?
Addition & Multiplication
Identity Element
+0 | x1
What does a number being next to a variable mean
They are multiplying each other
Combining Like Terms
means adding or subtracting terms that have the same variables
Terms
are the numbers, variables, or combinations of both separated by + or − signs.
