Local Area Network (LAN)
A group of devices connected together in a single broadcast domain.
Broadcast Domain
A set of devices that receive broadcast messages sent by any device within that domain.
Switch
A networking device that connects devices within a LAN and manages data transmission between them.
Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN)
A logical subgroup within a network that combines multiple devices into a single broadcast domain, regardless of their physical location.
Router
A device that routes data between different VLANs or networks.
VPN (Virtual Private Network)
A secure network that encrypts data transmitted over the internet to protect communication between devices.
VPN Concentrator
A device that creates and manages VPN communications by encrypting and decrypting data.
Client-to-Site VPN
A VPN connection that allows an individual user to connect securely to a corporate network.
Site-to-Site VPN
A VPN that connects two or more networks securely over the internet.
Firewall
A network security device that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules.
