Motion
The change in an object's position over time relative to a reference point.
Frame of reference
A coordinate system or viewpoint used by an observer to specify the precise position, velocity, and behavior of objects in motion
Speed
The rate at which an object covers distance, calculated as distance divided by time.
Force
A push or a pull exerted on an object that can cause it to change its velocity (accelerate).
Matter
Anything that has mass and takes up space.
Energy
The ability to do work
Joules
What energy is measured in
Work
Force x distance
Kinetic energy
The energy an object possesses due to its motion
Potential energy
The stored energy an object possesses based on its position, state, or configuration relative to a reference point
Acceleration due to gravity
The steady acceleration experienced by an object in free fall within a vacuum, valued at approximately \(9.81\text{ m/s}^2\) near Earth's surface.
Law of conservation of energy
The foundational principle stating that total energy in an isolated system remains constant; it cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed from one form to another
