Locomotor System
The system made of the skeletal system and muscular system that helps us stand, walk, run, jump, move, gives our body shape, and helps us keep the correct position.
Skeletal System
The structure of our body formed by bones that provides support, helps in movement, and protects important organs.
Muscular System
The system of muscles connected to bones that contract and relax to pull the bones and make parts of the body move.
Calcium
A mineral that makes bones hard and strong.
Cartilage
A tissue that is softer and more flexible than bone.
Long Bones
Types of bones whose main job is support and movement, such as the femur and humerus.
Short Bones
Types of bones whose main job is movement, such as the wrist and ankle bones.
Flat Bones
Types of bones whose main job is protection, such as the skull and pelvis.

How Do Bones and Muscles Work Together?
when we bend an arm or a leg, the muscles move the bones.
Bones cannot move by themselves. They need muscles to move.
