Sympathetic Division
Controls the fight or flight response to stress of smooth muscle.
Parasympathetic Division
Controls the rest and regulatory functions of smooth muscle.
Autonomic Nervous System
Controls smooth muscle, cardiac muscle and glands.
Somatic Nervous System
Controls skeletal muscle.
Efferent Neurons
Sends motor messages to the muscles and glands.
Afferent Neurons
Sends sensory information to the brain and spinal cord.

Structures that are located within the middle ear.
Typmanic membrane
The eardrum, which sound waves hit upon entering the external auditory canal.
