Transnational Migration

immigrants to a new country retain strong ties to the country of origin.  

Chain Migration

family, friends, or community members follow others in migration.  They usually would experience the same push or pull factors that drove others to migrate

Rural to urban migration

a demographic shift in population trends as people look for greater opportunity in cities

Internally displaced person

a person forced to flee their home but remains within their country's borders due to conflict, natural disasters, or other crises

Skills gap

shortage of trained workers in a particular field

Brain drain

loss of skilled people to a bigger, more developed richer country

Relocation Diffusion

spreading culture through relocation
