7 Characteristics of living organisms
Movement, Respiration, Sensitivity, Growth, Reproduction, Excretion, Nutrition
Movement
the ability to change position or location, either by moving the whole organism or internal parts.
Respiration
Chemical reaction in cells that break down nutrient molecules and releases energy for metabolism
Sensitivity
The ability to detect and respond to changes in the environment
Growth
Permanent increase in size and dry mass
Reproduction
Processes that result in making more individuals of that kind of organism
Excretion
removal of metabolic waste products to maintain internal balance and prevent toxicity
Nutrition
Taking of nutrients into the body. nutrients are raw materials needed by the cells to release energy and make more cells for growth, development, and repair
