Coalition
a temporary alliance of distinct political parties, nations, or groups that unite to achieve a shared goal or confront a common adversary
Conference committee
comittees drawn from both chambers that meet to devise a compermise different versions of a bill, law that emerged from both houses
Filibuster
delay/ prevent a bill through long speeches
Gerrymandering
redrawing district boundries to favor the policial party that controls state legislature
Joint committees
permanate commitees from both house and senate, they serve as advisory boards to other congresional committes
President Pro Tempore
the most senior member of the senates majority party, 3rd in line of presiendtal succession
Reapportionment
congress has established a total number from each state the state legislatres redraw the boundaries of congressional districts to reflect the population shifts.

most powerful committie, deals with finances and legislative procedures

a tax on select imports, also know as tarrifs

taxes on the nations internal production, sale,or use of items and on certain buisness practices

emergency paper currency issued by the United States during the Civil War
Income Tax
a mandatory government charge levied on individual and business earnings to fund public services and infrastructure
Legal Tender
any official money that a government recognizes by law as valid for settling a financial debt
loan
an agreement where one party borrows money or an asset from a lender with the promise to pay it back over time, usually with added interest
