Exocrine glands

Glands that send their secretions (enzymes) through ducts to target organs.

Endocrine glands

Hormone-producing glands that have no ducts and pour their secretions directly into the blood to be carried to target organs.

Hormones

Secretions produced by endocrine glands in very small quantities, which are poured directly into the blood and carried to target organs to perform specific functions.

Ductless glands

Another name for endocrine glands, so called because they have no ducts and release secretions directly into the blood.
