Ohm's Law
The relationship between current, voltage, and resistance, defined by the formula I=RV.
Electric Current (I)
The flow of electric charge through a circuit, measured in Amperes (A).
Voltage (V)
The potential difference or electromotive force that pushes charge through a circuit, measured in Volts (V).
Electrical Resistance (R)
The opposition to the flow of electric current, measured in Ohms (Ω).
Electric Charge (Q)
The total amount of electricity passing through a circuit, calculated as the product of current and time (Q=I×t) and measured in Coulombs (C).
Resistivity (ρ)
An intrinsic property of a material that determines its resistance based on length (l) and area (A), using the formula R=Aρ×l. It is measured in Ohm-meters (Ω−m).
Cross-sectional Area (A)
The area of the wire's end through which current flows, calculated using the formulas A=4π×d2 or A=π×r2.
Electromotive Force (emf)
The potential difference provided by a source such as a battery, measured in Volts (V).
Ampere (A)
The standard unit for measuring electric current, defined as the amount of charge passing through a circuit per second (I=tQ).
Coulomb (C)
The standard unit for measuring electric charge (Q).
Ohm (Ω)
The standard unit for measuring electrical resistance (R), represented by the Greek letter omega (Ω).
