Market Indices
The three main international numbers used to see how the overall economy is doing.
Green (Stock App Color)
Indicates that the price is higher than yesterday's 4:00pm closing price.
Red (Stock App Color)
Indicates that the price is lower than yesterday's 4:00pm closing price.
Plus Sign (+)
Indicates that the stock went up today (it is more expensive).
Minus Sign (-)
Indicates that the stock went down today (it is cheaper).
Big White Number
The current price to buy one single share of that stock right now.
App Rule
Never trust background colors alone; always look for the +/- sign to see if the stock is actually up or down.
Ticker Symbol
The short letter code representing a company.
Market Cap
The total dollar value of the whole entire company.
